Dear listener, Mr. Nestor Vargas,
Thank you for your reception report. Our full data World Radio Day broadcast e-QSL verification nr. 80 is enclosed. Many thanks also for your audio clip that was vital in order to verify your reception report.
We are a small free radio station broadcasting from Italy which, after 15 years of dormancy, returned back to the airwaves on 15th August 2015. Currently we are airing test broadcasts on our historic frequency of 11390 kHz and power is in the region of 30 watts.
Although we are not broadcasting regularly, we usually go on air on Saturdays or Sundays, from 09.00 to 13.00 UTC (One hour earlier when Summer Time is in force).
Please note that times and days of transmission are liable to change. However a circular message on when our tests are scheduled is regularly sent in advance to short-wave community and listeners in our mailing list.
MRI should next be audible on 29th February 2016, from 09.30 to 13.00 UTC, on 11390 kHz.
This special leap day broadcast will include, station identification announcements in Italian, English, German, Spanish, French and Catalan as well as DX shows in English and Italian.
Until now reception reports, found to be correct, have been received from listeners from 15 countries in Europe: Austria, Belgium, Czech Republic, Finland, France, Germany, Italy, Netherlands, Spain, Switzerland, Russia as well as, for the first time in our history, from Bulgaria, Greece, Romania and Ukraine.
We hope to extend the duration of our broadcasts in the near future and also to increase power. We expect to use a new transmitter and, for the first time in our history, a frequency outside the 11 MHz band (probably in the range between 6800 and 7500 kHz) very soon. We also plan to send in printed QSL cards by snail-mail but only to some lucky listeners. That’s why we invite listeners to provide us with their postal (street or P.O. box) address.
Last but not least, on 13th February 2016, Marconi Radio International celebrated the role of free shortwave radio on the occasion of World Radio Day. This explains why we produced, in cooperation with other two free radios of Italy, Radio Europe and IBC – Italian Broadcasting Corporation, a special 1 hour show in Italian with interviews with people behind the operation of the three free radios. Never before in their history the three stations have aired the same show.
The response from listeners was good. Lot of them appreciated the contents of the show. With this in mind, we have decided to continue cooperation with other free radios of Italy. The next week-end (27 to 29th February) will therefore be another opportunity to hear the same programme (This time our DX show in English “Italian Shortwave Panorama”) not only via Marconi Radio International but also IBC Italian broadcasting Corporation which operates on 6970 kHz (their E-mail address is: firstname.lastname@example.org).
If you use social networks, please post an announcement on Facebook or send out a tweet the day before the broadcast. You can also forward this message to a friend. This should help increase our potential audience.
